The place is very quiet with a beautiful garden and a view of the surrounding nature. The staff was very kind, and the receptionist Henry took exceptional care of us:) They offer scooter rental, laundry service (which was great!), and will help you organize trips around Cat Ba or book buses to following destinations.

First time i've rated a 10 but i loved staying here, the best guest house i've stayed so far. To swim in the pool surrounded by mountains was quite magical. It was a little like a resort than a homestay with an open feel, table tennis table, pool table, sea view(some rooms). My room was great, well equipped and the wifi for me was super fast. The family were so generous and helpful, i felt part of the family while i was there. I met some lovely guests here too. The location is away from the main road etc making it peaceful. Town is about 2.5kms from The Homestay though they do rent scooters(Tong Thu Beach next to town is lovely). I was a little nervous to stay at first because i read some bad reviews on google maps just before check in but thankfully, the claims in those reviews were not true at all. Overall fantastic, especially considering the very affordable price.

Excellent service, super helpful and friendly family ! They helped us book tours and provided a lot of useful information. The room was spacious and confortable and the location is away from all the construction on the bay, so no unwanted noice.

Beautiful clean room, a spacious closed shower, free breakfast and easy scooter rental. This place was amazing. Also, Nam is the man. He helped us with the scooters, planning visits, booking the boat tour, booking the bus and the hotel to Cao Bang. A one man army. Bonus points for the cute little dog chasing people's ankles.

very spacious and comfortable apartment (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, large living room), clean, well equipped. very comfortable beds, which is not common in Vietnam. they offer very interesting activities - we took part in two trips (all-day tour of the bay and night search for glowing plankton) and we are very happy. they have motorbikes for rent at a very good price. great staff - always smiling, helpful and professional. Drake and Judy are great hosts. we highly recommend.

Me and my girlfriend stayed in Rustic House for 4 nights in the beginning of March 2023. We had a wonderful time here and we would recommend anyone to book a stay here as well. The family who owns and runs the hotel are some of the nicest people on the island. They offered us anything we could ask for and when we got sick they proposed to get medicine from the pharmacy. Their English is not perfect, however this was never an obstacle in order to communicate. The room is - obviously - in a beautiful, rustic style. But more important is that everything was clean and that the room had a beautiful view over the reservoir. Keep in mind that you have to be a bit pro-active in case you want to get clean towels, toilet paper, etc. But given the environmental state of the earth, we can only applaud for this! The hotel offers basic needs regarding drinks and food, just what anyone would need during the day, or late at night. The a-la-carte breakfast however is more than sufficient: a lot of choice and everything is made fresh and super quick. To summarize: beautiful and clean room, very friendly family who takes care of their visitors. The breakfast was delicious, and in a few minutes walking you are in the middle of the touristic center of Cat Ba. We would definitely stay here another time if we ever decided to come back. For now we will leave this lovely experience to you!

We do check in early around 9am after very long way from Ha Giang to Cat Ba. The reception is so kind and very good at english. he did very well his job, when we arraive he takes 10 minutes to tell us everything to do as a tour guide. high recomendation for this hotel. Just come and check how it is
