The room was spacious and clean, the hotel exceeded my expectations. In May I did not see any children in the hotel, it was very quite. Breakfast was ok, but without fireworks. I had expected more fresh vegetables to do vegge salat, some feta or other white cheese, there was nothing except tomatoes. Here a huge disappointment. Spa centre small but nice. Hotel very close to the airport, 5min by taxi - cost 10EUR with tip, few lovely local restaurants (with fish with banana!) close to the hotel, the village small, very quite and relatively flat, comparing to Funchal. On weekend few performances in the village by the local singers and dancers. I loved this quite place.

The staff including Managers were very pleasant, accommodating and spoke perfect english. We travelled with our family of seven using 3 rooms. The breakfast was fantastic offering, cereal, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, coffees and my favourite freshly squeezed orange juice to name a few items. Our rooms were very comfortable and spacious. Separate large rooms for both the toilet and walk in shower. We had a great view of the sea port where the cruise ships were docked. The Vine has the best location in Funchal and is an easy walk to many attractions. This was my second visit to the Vine.

The breakfast was very good with many options. The views of the sea and nearby beach were good.

This restored Madeiran mansion is located 900 metres from Funchal's Old Town and has scenic views of the sea, the city and the mountains from its own botanical gardens and terraces.

Absolutely everything was in order. I reccomended this place to my parents! They might visit next year. Great location, friendly staff, hygienic and also nice breakfast buffet.

Wonderful hotel. The breakfast space is absolutely fabulous with full view to the ocean and the outdoor swimming pool. Breakfast offers lots of choice and is great. The lobby is spacious, and elegant. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a fantastic view to the ocean (had a partial see view room). Could be regarded as a bit dated, but it is so comfortable, clean and well organised that this is not bothering. A really great hotel from all points of view.

Amazing, not touched, old architecture with the great understanding of comfort. I truly believe that a great designers who can preserve the old and inhale new elements in the building could make a place an unforgettable gem of the Funchal. Good lack. I personally believe that it was a great value for the money :)

Very nice hotel, the staff,rooms, spa, swimming pools everything was lovely. Location also is good, close to the city centre and marina. My wife had a birthday during our stay and we got nice surprise from the staff. When we went to have a breakfast there was a special table for us and special breakfast menu and after that when we came to our room it was bottle of champagne and some letter from the staff, very kind from them 😊
