It was so lovely to meet John and Steph, a real delight. It was great the get some history of the area and excellent recommendations for walks and places to eat. As the other reviews said, the breakfast was also a highlight of our stay. So delicious! And watching the birds whilst having breakfast was just joyful. A real gem of a place, thoroughly recommended to everyone.

Le Cottage Lodge Hotel est situé dans le village victorien de Brockenhurst, au cœur du parc national de New Forest. Cottage Lodge was very comfortable and had excellent facilities. The breakfasts were excellent and the selections of breakfast meals were all enjoyable. The hotel was perfect for us as we could walk to the bike rental near the train station to pick up our bikes. As we did two days of biking, it worked out well. Having a designated car parking spot was nice as we always had a spot to park. From the hotel you can walk to the restaurants and pubs, no need to drive.

Set in Brockenhurst, a 25-minute drive from Southampton, The Huntsman of Brockenhurst is a forest inn dating back to the 13th century that has undergone a major refurbishment. This is an absolute gem of a place! Delicious food, cosy ambiance, beautiful environment and rooms. Situated in Hythe Marina near the town of Hythe, the Boathouse Hotel provides sleek, modern rooms with free Wi-Fi, some overlooking the water. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and nothing was too difficult for them during our stay.
