Very well located hotel in the vicinity of Lake Myvatn. The view was very nice and staff of the hotel were very helpful and friendly all the time. Satisfying breakfast as well.

Located in Hjalteyri, 19 km from Akureyri, Apt. Hotel Hjalteyri features views of the sea and the mountains from every apartment. Every room has a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. Although we only stayed for one night, we truly enjoyed relaxing in the jacuzzi on the terrace while snow fell around us- a magical experience, even if the northern lights didn’t appear due to the weather. The complimentary coffee machine with capsules was a thoughtful touch, and we loved spending time in our spacious, warm apartment while the storm passed outside.

Incredible location. Comfortable bed and spacious double room. Nice common area and a fabulous kitchen. The breakfasts were fortifying, but mostly the host made us all feel at home. A wonderful facility in a special place with special people.
