Featuring a lounge and terrace of modern design, the property is located within walking distance from Sanjo Station on the Keihan Line, Karasuma Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line and Kyoto Shiyakusyomae Station on the Tozai Line. Free WiFi is available throughout the property, while pocket WiFi can be rented at the front desk. The location is great, around 10 minutes walk from the market and bus/metro stations. The stuff has excellent english and very helpful. The room was small but it was enough for us. There are coin laundry and drier which are useful. The hostel looks great, new.
Gion, Kyoto
Situated a 10-minute walk from lively Kawaramachi area, Kyomachiya Ryokan Sakura Urushitei offers Japanese-style accommodation with modern facilities and traditional design. It provides a tour desk and a bar on the ground floor. Free WiFi is available in all areas. The building itself was very beautiful and nicely decorated. The employees were very friendly and helpful and there was a nice area to sit and eat. There is a private bath that can be booked and costs a few yen, which was really nice to get into after a long day outside, we enjoyed it very much. The rooms are traditional, beautiful and kept exceptionally clean. There is a lot of space for belongings and luggage (though one must be careful not to hurt the tatami), a fridge, and a great bathroom which has everything one might need. Im very happy I got to experience sleeping on a traditional bed in a traditional room. I have to admit the mattress was a bit thin for my back so it wasn't too comfortable at first, my partner on the other hand thought its great so it really depends on preference. However, I asked if i can get an extra layer that I can put under to make it softer, and i got one! Afterwards i was sleeping like a baby, so if it seems a bit stiff at first ask for support :). We also got a lot of information on places in the area, including restaurants, everyone was doing their best to keep our stay as comfortable as possible. It truly is a great place and I have nothing I wish was different. The location is also great, close to the main "centre" and some public transport. It is a very good spot, quite relaxing and quiet considering its proximity to the famous streets. Walking down from Sannenzaka and the area, towards out hotel, is one of our very fond memories. A lot to do nearby, and great restaurants. Thank you for our stay, we had a wonderful time, and we hope we can be back sometime in the future.
Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto

Both Kiyomizu Gojo and Shichijo stations for the Keihan Main Line are situated within a 10-minute walk. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. We loved the place. Very well placed, only a 5min walk from the Gion area and many temples. The owners are the nicest people, and gave us a lot of help on our trip. They also have a bike rental for 600Y per day which was very handy. The free breakfast they give is great and we also had the japanese breakfast one day which we loved. The room was spacious and very nice, with great air conditioning and nice futons. We also used the laundring service. We loved the place and highlt recommend it

Kyoto Station Area, Kyoto

It features a spacious and comfortable lounge, a tatami (woven-straw) terrace and a wall-size map with latest event information around Kyoto. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property, while portable WiFi devices are available for guests to use during their stay for an additional fee. The best hostel I stayed! The staff amazing and everyone were very friendly! They organize games nights and even had a Christmas party 🎄🎅🏽 There is a lot of information provided on the walls (like markets date and location, and recommendations) Super clean, comfortable and good value for money. I took a single room which had a sink which made getting ready so easy. The showers are on the first floor, and the towels are just next to them so you could take as many as you needed. The location- just next to Kyoto station, you can easily get there and get everywhere you need to.
Kinosaki Onsen, Toyooka
Facing the central shopping street of the Kinosaki Onsen hot spring area, Morizuya offers authentic Japanese-style accommodation, hot spring baths and Japanese dining. Guests can wear colourful yukata robes at the property. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout. Staying at Morizuya was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. This cozy, family-run ryokan radiates warmth and hospitality. Manager Hachisuka and his family do everything they can to make you feel at home, and our stay truly exceeded expectations. The ryokan is charming and traditional. We stayed in a spacious, comfortable tatami room with beautiful décor and a view of a peaceful garden. The room included a private toilet and sink, while bathing is done in their private onsen (yes, private — no need to bathe with others if that makes you uncomfortable). Morizuya provides yukata for men and women, sandals, bags, towels, and an onsen pass for the town’s seven public baths. Women can also choose a kimono for going out around town and shopping, while men can (and should!) relax in their yukata for this same purpose. I especially want to highlight how Manager Hachisuka truly went above and beyond. He’s not only an excellent photographer — taking beautiful photos of my fiancée and me among the cherry blossoms and guiding us to great photo spots — but also incredibly kind and attentive. He personally helped us with our schedule and drove us to the station early in the morning to ensure we caught our train on time. That level of care is something we’ll never forget. If you’re unsure where to stay, I strongly recommend Morizuya. We left with beautiful and unforgettable memories of this warm and authentic experience in Kinosaki. A few quick tips about the bath: There are two onsen inside the inn. From 7 AM to 3 PM, they’re public (men/women separated). From 3 PM to 11 PM they become private — no reservation needed. If the door’s unlocked, it’s available. Go in, lock the door behind you and enjoy. You’re welcome to bathe with your family or partner. Be sure to shower and clean yourself before entering the bath. Walking around town in your yukata(or kimono) is part of the charm, so don’t be shy — it’s all part of the experience.

Lovely interior design. Spacious room
Truly an exceptional property, in every way. Friendly, helpful and courteous staff. Luxury ambience and amenities. The property has lots of character and lovely design elements. Surely one of the best boutique hotels I have stayed in, ever in my life! Felt sad when it was time to check out 😊.
Beyond my expectations, it’s a really nice set, great design hotel. Very delicate, private, full of details… the space is also great. We just love it.
This property was stunning- the views from the room are all of the water, the onsen was also a real highlight. The interior design was also really gorgeous if you’re into 80s art deco opulence.
Lovely boutique 5 star hotel with cool history, beautiful design, over-the-top amenities, and wonderful staff. Kid friendly. I would come to Kyoto again and stay here :)
Best of the 5 hotels we’ve stayed at on our two week trip to Japan. Beautiful boutique hotel. Lovely stylish room with great bathroom and walk in shower. Had king bed as well and more and well designed space in room. Super guest lounge with coffee, juices and snacks and in the evening beer and wine too. Very friendly staff. Quiet location but walking distance to all key points of central city and lots of little local restaurants and bars if you explore.
This hotel was so stunning. Beautifully appointed, sleek stylish interiors, beautifully crafted breakfast menu. Every little detail was so thought out. The staff were incredibly helpful and spoke wonderful English. The coffee at the coffee shop was some of the best we had in the country The location and facilities around the hotel were amazing, from the tranquil gardens, to the craft beer spot and designer boutiques. We can't wait to come stay again!
My second time staying with Piece during my visit to Kyoto. This time round, we tried a different branch. From the moment I arrived, I knew I was in for a treat. The stays truly exceeded my expectations in terms of its location, cleanliness, and stunning interior design. Their common area was stylish and inviting, despite post-covid the place is very well-maintained and the entire property is very tidy. Will definitely visit again if we're visiting Kyoto.
A lovely boutique hotel - well designed with friendly staff and great facilities for guests, including a communal kitchen and lounge. Our Japanese-style standard room was very roomy and stylish - we loved the tatami and the seperate bathroom off the shoji-screened entrance. The Japanese breakfast included in the very reasonable room rate was delicious.
