Rooms at Hotel Casa Gonzalez are bright and spacious, with hardwood floors and a fan. Some rooms have a terrace, others have a balcony. All rooms have a private bathroom. Breakfast and lunch were great deals and very tasty. Service was outstanding. Very warm and friendly. The bed was comfortable. Would have liked a small fridge but in the end with the restaurant on the premises, and free water refills, no fridge was not a problem. Location was great, close to US Embassy and many convience stores as well as several restaurants. However, it is located in a busy part of town and taxis were sometimes impossible to find. But if the hotel calls for one it arrives, no problem. They were excellent in giving us advice about the area as well as the city in general.

Maria del Alma is a 85-year-old historic colonial building with attractive gardens and terraces. It offers a shared lounge and dining area. The snack bar serves typical local dishes, including tamales. Wonderful hosts! The house and the rooms are very pleasant (and the bed comfortable). The breakfast is fantastic with variety every day. The hosts went out of their way to kindly accommodate my early arrival and late departure - much appreciated. I will definitely come again. I stayed for 6 nights and loved having Coyoacan as my base. As a solo single woman traveler, I felt very comfortable and safe.
