The traditional Portuguese restaurant offers panoramic views of the Monastery. My room had a great view. Staff lovely. Good restaurant attached, which was useful. Breakfast good. It's also handy to be able to stay later than most tourists and see the monastery while quiet. Short walk from bus station.

The facilties are lovely, with plenty of gorgeous rooms to sit and relax in. You get a real sense of history. Breakfast is copious, including mini pasteis de nata, scrambled eggs, bacon, tomatoesand mushrooms. Friendly helpful staff.
