Everything was great. The front desk staff were extremely, professional, spoke fluent English,, friendly and helpful. Our room was not ready when we arrived, but they quickly arranged another room for us. As a first time to Ghent, they were most helpful providing us with a map, and giving us directions, including which modes of transport to take to the city's attractions. Great basement parking for 19 Euros per day.. Really great breakfast for sit down diners as well as those on the go to take away coffee and pastries. Spacious and clean rooms. Extremely comfortable bed and pillows, well functioning air conditioner and we experienced a very quiet and restful evening. Great location, as it is close to bus stops to and from the trams to commute to the central train station., for the city centre and other destinations .Holiday Inn Express & Suites. IIHG, is our preferred, as it always lives up to our expectations The 40 minute boat trip along the canal, is also a must do, as it is a quick history overview of Ghent and Belgium.

The hotel is wonderful — new, clean, and perfect rooms, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Excellent and attentive staff, and a delicious breakfast.

The ladies on the reception were always friendly and very helpful with recommending a restaurant nearby to eat and also the best/scenic direction to walk into the old town. The fresh chopped fruit was lovely and the breakfast selection was outstanding.
