Casa Geranio is a hidden gem in the center of Rio. A B side, where you can see the city from another perspective. Away from tourists and massive chaos it seems like an oasis, where monkeys come to say hello while you are having your delicious breakfast. Every detail in this place is taken care by it´s owners, Claudio and Gabriel, who are the minds behind this private, well curated and comfortable boutique hotel. We stayed in the room with the private pool and it was perfect. Really looking forward for our next stay here.

The deco - living room/dining room is very tasteful and gives you a feel of homely vibe. Food menu is limited but sufficient. Swimming pool is good size. You also have a game room to play a round of pool, or can retreat to sauna room to steam off all those caipirinhas. Staff (Pablo, Leo to name a few) are so hospital and professional. I was sick during my stay and their tentativeness (and the comfort of the hotel) certainly made the experience much more endurable. Hotel is also pretty close to main area of Santa Teresa by foot.

Very beautiful architecture, clean rooms and facilities, uncomplicated booking process with no prepayment (not typical for Brazil), beautiful views , facilities to have healthy home cooked food for a good price (not just burgers and pizzas), safety and security, and the most important the wonderful and welcoming staff.
If you come here expecting a big party hostel with a lot of alcohol and testosterone fueled action , you will be disappointed.
If you come here for a peaceful place to relax and get some quiet time away from the crowds you will be very happy.

Amazing place, beautifully decorated in a nice neighborhood just a short walk from Santa Teresa. We felt safe. Great value stay during Carnaval, breakfast was beautiful, nice variety and the rooms were extremely comfortable, highly recommend!
