The location is not necessarily close to any to any tourist destinations but conveniently located near a Subway Line 1 station from which you can easily get to anywhere in Dalian. Both nights I stayed there I spent the late evening hanging out in the lobby with the staff and other guests, playing card and board games as well as chatting. I was speaking in Chinese the entire time so if you do not know the language you may need to use translation apps etc to communicate but the staff are used to foreign guests so you should not face any problems.

The apartment is located in the downtown area very close to Zhongshan Square and gives very convenient access to metro and bus routes. The landlady was very friendly and helpful. We were able to communicate well through WeChat. I came back one day to find a lovely gift of fresh cherries 🍒.

Close to the airport, the staff were very helpful and accommodating of my last minute booking due to changed flight times, the room was immaculate and well stocked with tea, coffee and essentials. The 24 hr reception was helpful for my early check out, they spoke English and booked my taxi for me.
