This was by far the best hotel during our trip in Ecuador and Galápagos. The staff is nice and caring. Wilmer was very welcoming and helpful, simply amazing! The breakfast is delicious!

I've really enjoyed my stay at the Balcón del Arte Hotel, after booking my room I instantly received a message confirming all the hotel details (hotel name, address, contact details) and on the day of arrival I was greeted by a very lovely staff member (I'm sorry, I don't recall the name!). I received a key to my room as well as the front door, which is very helpful as it allows you to come and go without disturbing anyone. The room itself was clean, the bed was comfortable, bedding was warm AND... There's hot water in the sink and the shower! All my priorities have been met, so I can't complain at all haha Another bonus was that despite it being 6 degrees Celsius at night during my stay, this has somehow been the warmest hotel room I've stayed in whilst visiting Cuenca, which was a nice surprise, especially as there's no heating. Overall, this hotel offers the perfect location, perfect facilities, perfect care/treatment aaand the perfect price. Thank you so much and I will definitely be back! P.s. Regarding some things mentioned in the comments of previous guests: - Someone mentioned light coming in through the curtains; the light in the corridor is turned off at night, so although it can shine through the curtains when it's on in the early evening, it's not a problem during the night. My room was pitch black. - Someone also mentioned being concerned about the bathroom windows leading out into the hallway, because someone could potentially look inside... I don't think that's something to worry about, the windows are quite high up and someone would have to be very tall, or stand on something, in desperation to do that. 😅

Very central location to the churches, main square and restaurant. Short walk to museums and the riverwalk. Breakfast was top notch every morning. Wifi was dependable and pretty fast. Maybe 15-20 mbps on a speed test. From reading the reviews I was worried about the creaky floor noise but it didn't bother me. The rooms had lots of space to spread out, included a luggage rack and even a little wine fridge. Showers were hot and had shampoo and conditioner dispensers.

It is a wonderful hotel!At first sight it is clear that everything is perfect!It has a small pretty courtyard with plants and flowers and when you enter it seems that you are somewhere in the countryside!It is so nice that you don’t want to leave this place!The room is very clean with a comfortable bed, pillows and wonderful linen.You have everything you need. the complimentary upgrade we received from a heritage room (deluxe king suite) which I found dark and poorly equipped to a modern spacious apartment with incredible views of the nearby domes was so appreciated. Staff were very kind and thoughtful. Fabulous location.
