Oh my, this is the best hotel I've ever stayed at. We were greeted like royals from before we stepped inside. The views, the smells, the respect and the hospitality - it was all amazing. I ended up proposing to my girlfriend here, and we couldn't have chosen e better place for it. The private onsen was fantastic as well.

This hotel was very beautiful and relaxing. The drinks at the bar were delicious and so was our breakfast! The staff were friendly and accommodating to our English speaking. They even helped us make a reservation at a nearby restaurant and coordinated our transportation to and from the restaurant so that we were able to have a few drinks. It was a very special experience, especially because we were on our honeymoon! I’m so glad we stayed here.

Characterful and charming accommodation! It’s about 7 mins walk to Sanjo station and easily walkable to many major sites in Kyoto. Some reviews mention the accommodation being “run down” but it’s clear they have been recently renovated with a tasteful design eye. It’s has a basic “kitchen” which is perfect for preparing breakfast or snacks (I wouldn’t recommend preparing a whole meal here) and it’s is a short walk to many delicious restaurants. The bathroom is a shower (not outside bathtub as some pictures and reviews mention). Beds are very comfortable and the hosts are very welcoming and friendly and speak perfect English. It’s worth noting that the check in is a few streets away from the apartment itself.
