The hotel was beautiful and I enjoyed the four different onsens in there. A few of the onsens (indoor) were a little on the older side, but the outdoor rock pool was spectacular. The facilities were really great. Dinner was really high quality food, although I felt a bit rushed. The breakfast buffet was spectacular.

Amazing service. The hotel picked us up from the train station and also provided transportation to local sights. We enjoyed a variety of delicious food at dinner and breakfast. We really enjoyed the private onsen with view of Biwa Lake.

In room onsen was fantastic. Beautiful views of the lake. Friendly staff. Beautiful food for both dinner and breakfast. Public onsen was also excellent. One of us couldn't attend the public onsen due to extensive tattoos, but the option of a private onsen circumvented this issue.

Meals were served in the restaurant instead of in the room. The meals were delicious and deceptively filling (as in, you wouldn't think you'd get full but you do!). Our room was amazing with a great view. The in-room onsen worked perfectly.

It was very nice. Rooms were extremely spacious. Food was delicious. Staff was very friendly. Onsen in the adjacent hotel is excellent and worth visiting, for a small fee.

Quiet, cozy, traditional Japanese style, I was so surprised when I checked in. Even though the city doesn’t offer too much to see, this house is definitely a gem for me on this trip! (And the breakfast is SO AMAZING! )

Breakfast was an incredible cultural experience, and the guided tour of the townhouses and shopping street gave me a historic context of Otsu that I didn’t know. The coffee bar with snacks and daily free aperitiv was wonderful. Awesome to have an old wellpoint in the building!

Great atmosphere and really nice spot next to the river. Staff were very attentive to our needs, helping with taxis and were very nice with our toddler. The garden is amazing. Such a great hotel.
