Olinda Galle is an exquisite hidden gem down a quiet lane near the centre of the city. From the minute you walk in the rustic wooden doors, your breath is taken away by the beautiful central pool and surroundings. The decor is full of incredible antique pieces and thoughtful touches everywhere you look. This hotel has clearly been built by a very accomplished architect and interior designer. Our room had a wrap around balcony with both large sliding doors and teak shuttered windows. In the morning we opened up both and the room was filled with light and a breeze with the sound of birds in the surrounding palms. The bed was amazingly comfortable with crispy white sheets and gorgeous soft pillows. When we came up to bed (after a truly delicious supper of octopus and prawns) we found that the room had been prepared for us with the Roman blinds pulled down and the mosquito net closed around the four poster bed. No stone is left unturned here and the attention to detail from the staff was second to none.

Beautiful, spacious and quiet hotel, all the details in furnishings seem right, you get the impression to be in someone’s actual house back in time. All staff is super friendly and attentive. Just a short walk from Galle centre, but in a very calm environment. Bonus: no plastic bottles, you get as much filtered water as you want.

The stay was planned very last minute but still managed to be absolutely perfect! The team was very helpful, friendly and kind. We were greeted with cold lime soda on arrival. Our room was a dream! Spacious, clean, bed was very comfortable. There is a also kitchen equipped with the basic facilities. The view is beautiful, looking over the pool and so many palm trees. It’s not on the beach, so either you walk to Unawatuna Beach (around 30 min) or you can make arrangements with the tuktuk driver that works for the hotel. The location itself is very peaceful and quiet so if you are looking to relax fully, this is the place to be. The pool area was also lovely and clean. Also, three rabbits hopping around was a pleasant surprise :) A short 4-5 min walk leads to the main street where there is a market, bakery, a bit further down a bank. All in all, it was absolutely wonderful and would have loved to stay longer!

It is the perfect location in the old town of Galle. I was surprised by the spacious room, its comfort, and all the amenities. the staff is very hospitable as everywhere in Sri Lanka. The building itself is fascinating, and you can feel it by the ambience and wooden stairs and floors, very well renovated and looks quite esthetic. If stay in Galle again I'd stop over at the Fort Printers - and google the history of the building and the Fort :)

Probably one of my favourite hotel stays I've had in many years. The location, staff, room, conformt etc were all superb. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff so attentive. Very personable!
