Great hotel in the scenic Grimsel Pass area. Fabulous location for walking or visiting the Gelmerbahn. Bus stops at the door and it's only 1 hour from Meiringen. The terrace restaurant is nice for during the day or pre-dinner drinks. Food is outstanding especially considering the isolated location. Well done to the kitchen staff and chef.

We stayed here in 2022 and now again in 2023...and this is still one of those really great unique hotels...top of the Grimsel Pass in central Switzerland...the weather determines everything...one moment thick cloud and then a stunning view..thats the Alps for you. We had a great terrace overlooking the lake ...the room is huge...the bed as comfy as comfy land...lots of hanging space and spotlessly clean....

    We are a family with a baby, a 4-year-old and a grand ma. We were impressed with the large space in the apartment. Children could play in the corridor. The kitchen was also big and we spent most time together there. The whole place was perfectly clean. The house was a charming ancient house, which was surrounded with nature. We could observe the chickens outside the kitchen windows. From here we did day trips to Grimselpass and Meiringen. The hosts were very friendly. We felt comfortable and enjoyed our stay very much.

    I love that this place is located in a smaller town Guttanen. The house is Amazing , Clean and comfortable . If you want to cook your own food to save money , this place has everything you need .Spices ,cooking oil etc. , is also available if you like to use :) Cornelia , the lady we met when we arrived , she is very sweet especially to the kids . She even offer detergent soap when I told her that I want to wash our clothes. I can definitely recommend this place :)
