This is probably the best hotel we stayed in Ecuador. The place is stunning, surrounded by 1000 hectares of cloud forest yet you feel absolutely safe and comfortable inside. Everyone is kind and professional, food was exceptional (and I am Italian and not easy to please :)…), the rooms are spacious and comfortable, there is 24 hr room service and a in-house doctor, a library, a cute boutique shop and they offer a spa and hot tub to relax. Guides are well prepared and very kind! We had Jonathan and loved the activities together.

Such a fantastic taste of paradise. Everything at subtropica is done with love and skill. The breakfasts are superb, the pool is crystal clean and perfect temperature, the grounds are gorgeous with healthy beautiful plants growing everywhere. Friendly service. Bird watching tour was excellent. Lots of birds can be seen from the room itself and from the dining room. We travelled with four and enjoyed an excellent dinner.

My second time in Mindo and my second time staying here. If I return to Mindo, I will stay here again. Small, family run hotel about a 5-10 minute walk to the main street of Mindo. Rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet. The reason for staying here is the amazing bird/animal garden next to the patio. It is so wonderful, that private tours stop here with paying guests, but you get it for free. A delicious breakfast is served on the patio, so you can enjoy the hummingbirds even more! After a fun filled day in Mindo, the patio is the perfect place to relax and be surrounded by the nature.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and served a really nice breakfast. The room, our own terrace, but also the hotel garden were all beautiful. The bathroom was very big and clean and had a nice jacuzzi. We will come back here for sure.
