Having lived in a place with no access to vineyards, Maryse and Jean-Paul's guesthouse was a hidden gem for me and my partner. Their place is literally located in the middle of the vineyards! It's not theirs though but its quite lucky that they offered it for someone to stay with a very reasonable price! If you are into a vineyard stay experience, this is the best offer you can find. You will be welcomed to your home for the weekend by a sweet couple with a complimentary bottle of grape jus in the fridge (not sure what to call a non alcoholic wine). The room, more like a mini house, has everything we will ever need for our stay in this remote place. (except for the food of course, best you buy groceries in advance). In the room, there's a dining area for 2-3, a comfortable sofa, a tv, a soft and comfy bed, a strong wifi, bathroom, toilet, heater which you can turn on anytime when needed, kitchen packed with utilities, coffee maker, microwave, and the most unique one which I couldn't find from other places is the washing machine! I was not expecting that and it so happened that with our frequent travels, we couldn't get to a laundry machine, here's one that comes along with the accommodation! Maryse was even so nice to give us a little bit of detergent from her own cause I forgot to bring one. Another plus to this place is the barbecue area. It was another unexpected benefit we had that we could use their garden and their plancha! We enjoyed it so much that we did barbecue twice! It was best enjoyed with Maryse and Jean-Paul. We invited them to join with us and they brought along bottle of drinks! We only booked for 3 nights at this place but unexpectedly extended 2 more nights! It was such a nice experience being in this secret garden. We were on a tight schedule for our France tour but staying here for at least 5 nights was just worth it. Im even doing this review at 1am in the morning cause I felt this place is just worth rating for.

It's fantastic. We slept like babies. Absolutely zero noise and the bed was very comfortable. Obviously the best thing about this place is the pig and Syd the dog. They wander around the garden together having the time of their lives. We sat out the front and had a bottle of wine in the evening which was lovely. The host is welcoming and warm and made sure we had everything we needed. If it had been warmer weather we'd have been in the pool for sure. This would be a great place for families. Many games a trampoline and of course the animals would keep children entertained for hours. Great stay. Many thanks.

Alfonso and Marie are charming hosts who clearly want their guests to share the enjoyment of their lovingly renovated farmhouse surrounded by fruit trees and vines. Parking within gated grounds. Great communications prior to and during stay. Airy dual aspect tastefully decorated bedroom with comfortable (firm) bed, quality linen and towels, super shower and kettle with tea/coffee. Being out of season we couldn’t make use of the outdoor summer kitchen but we were kindly offered an alternative space to enjoy our own picnic meal. Lovely breakfast (fruit, yoghurt, pastries with homemade jams and cake) served to the sound of birdsong. Ideal location to explore the local and wider wine regions by car (Maison des Vin de Fronsac 10 min, Saint Emilion 25 min and Entre-Deux-Mers 30 min) or to walk 10 min for a wine tour and tasting at Château de La Rivière. Worth basing here for more than one night, especially once the pool and outdoor kitchen open for summer!

We stayed at La Closerie de Fronsac for one night but we wished it would have been more. The chateau is beautiful, filled with gorgeous antiquities. The estate is amazing, in the middle of lush vineyards. The host, Clément, is really helpful and friendly. He gave us some tips of where to go in the area, which made for the perfect afternoon itinerary (the beautiful village of Saint Émillion nearby). When we came back, Clément gave us a tour of the wine cellar and let us taste some of the delicious self-produced wines. In the evening, we enjoyed an amazing, home-cooked dinner outside, which was the best ever! The room was super comfy and clean too, with everything you need for a good night’s rest. The breakfast the next day was super delicious as well! It was our dream of staying on a vineyard and staying at La Closerie de Fronsac went above our expectations! Thank you so much Clément!

Everything, a brand new tiny house, clean and well equiped, there’s a swimming pool too. The location in the centre of the major Vinobles. The very friendly owners. We could stay here for another week but we have to move on.
