Everything exceeded our expectations. The house is even nicer than the pictures. Spacious, comfortable newly renovated in a good taste in eclectic style. The owner took care of fresh flowers, fruit, bread and milk, which was so thoughtful. Very comfortable, well equipped and with attention to the detail. Altogether makes you very welcomed and homely. ❤️ Board games and books were available for us which was a cherry on the cake for us!🥰👌🏻 Everyone who put their house for rent should learn from Gillian and her husband how to do that! Best hosts!

Our stay here was nothing short of brilliant. What truly sets this hotel apart is its team. Every single staff member we encountered, from the housekeeping to the restaurant staff, was incredibly kind and went above and beyond to make our trip special. The facilities were excellent, and our room was quiet and peaceful. My stay at this hotel was truly fantastic, thanks to its outstanding amenities. Swimming pool, gym, tennis anf golf - all these superb facilities made my visit unforgettable. I highly recommend this hotel for a perfect blend of relaxation and recreation. A five-star experience from start to finish

A well presented family run hotel with excellent service and warm welcome. A great view from Embleton across the valley, ample parking and plenty of outdoor space particularly if you have a dog. The bar/dining area is furnished tastefully with plenty of tables for guests. Access to a pool is a welcomed addition and the kids loved it. The rooms were clean and tastefully presented.

The location is perfect and convenient when visiting family. I have stayed both in an apartment ( Skiddaw I think) and a standard room this visit ( Rydal I think) and both were very comfortable. Very good breakfast. Friendly staff.

Very friendly staff and great food in the cozy pub / restaurant. Ideal room size with two adjacent rooms for a family of four. Easy to find just off one of the (few) main roads of the Lake District and good base to start exploring the beautiful area. Indoor pool was a nice add-on for children, open to public during defined hours only.

Everything about this was lovely. Our children loved the fact that they were in a little mezzanine type room overlooking the sitting area. Beautiful scenery. Great food. The hammock outside interested the kids, so we actually got a glass of wine in relative peace for once! A real holiday.
