Fabulous Community owned pub. Room was bright and airy, comfy bed, lovely bathroom. Bar was a typical old fashion pub, with the staff and locals very friendly. Dinner and breakfast were both wonderful. Would highly recommend staying here

5 stars is not enough to describe our stay. All of the staff were extremely friendly. The rooms are done up to a very high standard, spotlessly clean. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was exceptional, there were so many choices at breakfast and staff remembered our preferences from the previous morning. We ate in the hotel for dinner, the menu was amazing and the quality of food even better. We could fault absolutely nothing at this hotel, thank you!

Fabulous place, just close enough for sightseeing, but also enough out of the way for some peace. Meal at the restaurant was great, breakfast was fabulous for the individual attention 😊.

Down stairs the bar had a log burner and a variety of seating. Staff and locals were very welcoming and there was a nice friendly atmosphere. The two evening meals we had were very reasonably priced and we enjoyed them.Large bedroom with a sofa and lots of space.

The whole house was wonderfully decorated and appointed. Comfy, warm and well fed. On site parking and all within 200m from the main town square. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

    Family room was lovely . Plenty of space and tea/coffee facilities in the room were great . Had an evening meal and breakfast and both were excellent . The main thing was that all the staff were friendly and accommodating and made our stay a really nice evening.

    We stayed at the Countrymans Inn for 1 night as we were going on The Polar Express train with my daughter and grandchildren. We were made very welcome. When we arrived there was a superb log fire burning. We had a family room which was big and a big bathroom. Everything was catered for on our stay. We all had pizzas in the evening which were delicious. We had full English breakfast in the morning which was also delicious. We would definitely stay again and would recommend. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay delightful.

    Lovely greeting from staff who provided us with all the information we needed for our stay. The room was huge with lots of room for our bags (so handy when travelling with a family!). Enjoyed a great dinner and breakfast was fantastic - need the recipe for their scrambled eggs! Really enjoyed our stay and thank you for making us feel so welcome.
