Unlike some of the posts I’ve read in other places, I found the Crown hotel to be clean, inviting and downright classic! The staff were very friendly and consistently making sure I was comfortable. The newly opened Indian restaurant “chilli dum” was fantastic and soon it’s going to be the new hot spot of stone. I will definitely stay there when I come back!

Was going to Alton towers for the week and stayed here for the night with the family as a pit stop. Sakib contacted me before arrival and asked if I required anything, I made a small request if he could leave milk in the fridge for morning coffee and cereal, which wasn't an issue he left us milk, bread and some other breakfast necessities, he went above and beyond. Would most definitely stay again if im ever in the area again. The house was immaculate and well looked after, the price was more than reasonable 10/10.

The property was cosy and felt warm and welcoming as soon as we arrived. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and it was all immaculately clean. We lived the extra touches with the cushions and bedding. Being so close to the pub and being able to take a nightcap back with us was special too.

Breakfast was good. Puzzled that no mention of eggs except as accompaniment to smoked haddock. Was staying there with a group for a memorial event and the bar area was a relaxing meeting up point. Didn't use restaurant in the evening as had been visiting family in the area

I stayed after my work, loved this place very much with their comfy bed and room arrangements. The hotel looks like they have renovated recently, it has maintained its charm and beauty. I walked through the high street in the morning, I found very interesting and people in this town is really welcoming. The canal next to the hotel seems a good spot for morning and evening walks. I love to come and visit this town with my family. The high street view from my room was amazing, I would definitely stay here again.
