The Star was a huge disappointment as this venue is well rated. It is clearly a well supported local pub which has accomodation as a sideline and the food is planned with the drinkers in mind rather than the overnight guests. Well situated, being in the countryside but not far from major routes and East Midlands Airport. The staff were outstanding, both friendly and efficient. Over the three nights of our stay it was good to see the seamless teamwork that made us feel so very comfortable. The food - both breakfasts, snacks and dinners were all delicious, freshly cooked and not just the same old standards found elsewhere. The hotel Manageress is a credit, went out her way even to fetch my glasses out of the car. I mean, who does that. Very attentive and the staff are all lovely.
