The apartment was the highest quality of all places we stayed in Crete and even in general when we traveled around the europe. There was everything we needed there and more. Everything looked new, modern, clean. The hosts were friendly. The view (mountains ahead) from enormous balcony was stunning and it was a pleasure to eat breakfasts or dinners there.

The hosts, Mr. Manolis and Mrs. Despoina is an excellent couple, 10 OUT OF 10. They were both hospitable, friendly, they treated us with fresh fruits upon our arrival. They also had a few kids toys for our babies. Everything was excellent, beyond our expectations.

Excellent lodging. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. It is an ideal place to rest and cook your own food. Stela is very kind and gave us very accurate information about the lodge and made us feel at home. The local people were very hospitable and, in addition to serving us very cordially, they offered us drinks and local food. They also gave us valuable information to enjoy our visit to the island such as the location of beaches and places of interest. We are very satisfied. The people of this community are Kind and have lot of beautiful landscapes. Stela was one of the best host that we ever have We will come back :)

Thalori village is truly a village within an old village, comprising several old, partly abandoned stone houses, that have been refurbished. The location of Thalori at an altitude of almost 800 meters means that it is never too hot in summer, and it also means that you enjoy a great view over the sea south of Crete, and also of the nearby Kofinas peak of Asterousia mountain. The houses are relatively small, but cozy and nicely decorated. The great advantage of Thalori is the excellent local cuisine, which can be enjoyed both for lunch and for dinner. The surrounding wild and arid landscape certainly is not for everybody's taste, but if you like this kind of landscape, you will be thrilled. The nearest beach is at 30 minutes via a difficult dirt road, and you will need to drive much longer (more than an hour) for an easily accessible beach. If, however, you are not afraid of difficult roads you will be rewarded by fantastic routes towards some fantastic beaches with few people. Finally, the personnel of Thalori is very friendly, helpful and efficient.
