BelgiumIt's hard to know where to start as everything about Cranganor is perfect! The setting on the banks of the Periyar river is absolutely beautiful. Our first floor room had a large balcony with comfortable chairs that overlooked the grounds and the river and we loved watching the birdlife in the trees. Everything is well organised by the friendly and helpful staff. The food is delicious and served with great care. The infinity pool is beautiful. We were initially booked for one night and then, to our joy, our flight home was delayed by 24 hours and we were able to stay for a second night. The shop sells lovely cotton clothes which are made on the premises. I had a dress made in just a few hours before we left. Thank you to all at Cranganor for a really lovely stay!

ItalyWonderful place, a real paradise! Vala House is one of the best places I have ever stayed. They have only 4 beautiful rooms with backwater view and a wonderful terrace. So relaxing. Wonderful breakfast, they serve you even the dinner you can order in a nearby superb restaurant (Liliput). Extremely nice staff, they organize everything for you. Somebody of them (unfortunately I do not remember
his name, he was so nice!) came with me to the nearby so interesting fish harbour. I can only recommend, much better than every 5 star hotel

United KingdomThe NICEST staff and hosts in the world! Vishnu & Shari are so lovely and you are warmly welcomed as soon as you arrive. This place is incredible and is quite possibly the best place we stayed at during our 3 week trip in India. Massages are on offer, as is yoga if you are so inclined. The pool is small but great for a dip when it's hot. The beach is 2mins walk away and they also offered us complementary lunch and dinner. Absolutely incredible! This place is a no brainer if you're staying in the Cherai Beach area!!

There were seven of us with ages ranging from 86 to 18 years. All of us loved this place. The beautiful location, the comfortable and aesthetically pleasing rooms and most of all the lovely staff. It is the hospitality which really stands out. Justin, Amal, Jeevan, Akhil, Zachariah, Devi, Anitha and the head chef whose name I cannot remember were all exceptional. The food was excellent. The hotel only had 7 rooms but all were well equipped, of good size and very comfortable. Bathroom was very good. Food was superb. All Staff were very good.
