Paolo was really hospitable and the BnB itself was in a beautiful sprawling garden really close to the heart of the Varese city. Quite splendid for a family run place. The amenities are on point .. toiletries, nice shower, access 24/7, choice of coffee, little refreshments, thought off breakfast, the two doggo's and so on. They were lovely to lend me a bike which I really was able to use to get around. A little smaller for 5'10" and two different valve types on the tires but enjoyed having the choice to nip about. The attention to detail was something you'd expect from a star hotel like the folding of the toilet paper, she really went beyond on service. There was a wee TV in the room too which was handy for a night in (all Italian channels but comforting with a wide variety). There's ample place to park your car too. This is a nice quiet place and something I would recommend going to again if I were in Varese that's close to your shops, restaurants, church, bar etc. and a short bus away from Sacro monte di Varese

Thank you Pamela and Massimo for your hospitality! Everything was as it is described on Booking.Com. The three bedrooms , dining room, lounge and kitchen are on the upper floor. The fully equipped kitchen is at guests disposal to use when needed. Our room had a balcony and was clean with so much detail. For breakfast: we had big variety of cakes, yoghurt, bread and they will bake you eggs too if you want. The big cuppachino they made for us was my happy start for an adventurous day during our 5 days that we stayed there. Make sure you visit the beautiful Santa Maria Del Monte !! Not to be missed.

Nice, quiet and authentic hotel in an amazingly green area with a small but nice pool away from the building. Old style and with lots of personality, a library to chill in, a garden to wander, and if you don't mind squeaky floorboards in the old villa, this is the dream. Staff were reserved but friendly, we felt right at home, and the staff gave guests space to just be. Fantastic associated restaurants (both La Scuderia and O'Lac), even though the breakfast was a bit plain. The coffee at the breakfast buffet was well made, and the staff were friendly. The town was lovely, and early morning walks around the lake were wonderful. Underground parking was spacious and easy to access. Traintracks run relatively close by, but the trains are so sparse that it didn't ruin the experience.

Set directly on Lake Comabbio, the Montelago is ideal for hikes to Lake Maggiore, Lake Lugano and Lake Varese. This eco-friendly hotel features energy saving systems and rooms with free Wi-Fi.
