The rifugio, which is an ex monastery, is very well and thoughtfully renovated, and located a bit out of the town. We enjoyed staying in a really unique room which inspired us to think about the history of this place, their inhabitants, nuns and monks. The owner is very nice and helpful, she took time to show us the old church and explained the history of the property. Close to the monestary there is a wonderful, even mystical garden full of lavandas, rosemarin, roses and other Mediterranean plants. Also the breakfast was delicious and served in an antique dinning room. Everything was super clean. We spent wonderful time in the rifugio and if comming back to Cividale, we will definitely choose again to stay here. If you like historical places and like to try something unusual, this place is worth trying.

    If you want to visit Italy and feel like you're actually staying in someone's home, this is the place! Such a great stay, with wonderful vibe and hosts. Angela was super accommodating, great with our kids and very thoughtful. The family makes their own wine and honey, so we even brought home lots of locally produced gifts. Their spumante is wonderful!
