Definitely a place to stay if you want to see Mt Fuji and its reflection on Lake Tanuki. There is a direct bus from Tokyo station and/or Mishima Station to the hotel, but with only a taxi option from Mt. Fuji station on Lake Kawaguchiko. Food is excellent, service is impeccable, and the onsen is to 'die for.'

It is hard to find something we didn't like honestly. Great accommodation all around. The room was clean, comfortable, well equipped, even had Japanese pajamas ready on the bed. Water and glasses, incredible Mount Fuji view from the room or the balcony upstairs. The whole house was extremely clean. The common room had a giant TV with Netflix, YouTube and even Disney. All the people that we met inside the house were extremely friendly, starting from the staff to the guests. The bathrooms were extremely well equipped, especially for the ladies, with feminine hygiene products. The water pressure in the shower was unbelievable. They offered to take us from the station and back, even to visit the town free of charge. They even offered us some traditional Thai food as one of the owners is Thai. The room downstairs is traditional Japanese with tatami floors and everything. Electric bike rent service was available to explore the rural side of Japan and it was gorgeous. Everything was just amazing and if you choose to stay here, don't forget to write your name on the map and something nice in the memory notebook.

Everything. We absolutely loved our stay – it was the highlight of our trip. Everything was beautifully prepared, and the view of Mount Fuji and the torii gate was simply breathtaking. The place had a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere, and every detail showed great care. A truly special experience we’ll never forget!

This is a small gem away from big cities. I wanted to spend a few days away from the busy life and this place was perfect. I could get there 99 % of the way using my JR Pass, gps map on my phone and two words I know in Japanese (hello and thank you). The host is very generous and friendly. They hold themselves to a high hospitality standard. In terms of attractions, there’s a culturally significant (and beautiful) Buddhist temple near by and Mt Minobu. You can hike the mountain or take a cable car. Overall I got a great value out of my stay. And the food was good too so I recommend you include that as well.

Very cool accomodation staying in the pods. Be careful what room you book if you have kids. The double story suites may be tricky with little ones. Beds are very comfortable and pods are warm! The food is AMAZING (see important note below!). There is also a delicious curry house about 15 minute walk away. Staff are really helpful and very approachable. There are many toys and activities available to borrow and a grassy area to play on.we also took advantage of the beautiful nature walks around the accomodation. They also have a lovely gift shop with local wares. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows after dinner.
