The property itself is well equipped and you just bring in your stuff and can stay there for a short break like your home. The owner also displays promotion materials about the local environs which suitable for new comer like us in the local community. The property is a quiet place. Having said that, depends on your requirement of "quiet", the property is adjoining to a main county road which means cars are passing through day and night, though not frequent. The owner is a nice gentleman and willing at all time to give you a helping hand in providing advices in the local community such as traveling, dining and sight seeing. To a traveler, a clean, comfort and safe place to stay is essential to release of uncertainty. The property and the owner do this well.

Hotel's location is in the historical neighborhood of Sasayama which makes it special. The room and amenities were exceptional. Everything was as described, the staffs were friendly and helpful, the food was amazing.. Cannot expect more from my stay!

Dinner and breakfast were both superb. The location, bang in the town centre and near the footpath up to the castle ruins, was perfect. It is so nice to find a historic building restored and used in this way! It was a real treat to stay there.

True to pictures, our stay at Shigura Wood Villa for a group of 4 adults and an infant was unparalleled! Naoto-san received us upon arrival to walk us through the facilities/ house rules and, was extremely prompt with his responses and assistance via the booking platform's chat function (prior to and during the trip). The villa was also spotless and contained professional kitchen equipment which motivated us to home-cook our meals! Even rain couldn't dampen our moods as the villa's interior was so lovely. We're truly grateful for the kind hospitality as first international guests of the villa and look forward to visiting again!

We had a short but sweet stay at Furumaya House, the Japanese home cooking by Sayaka-san is absolutely delicious, the hamburger steak is to die for. The rice is home grown and the other ingredients are locally sourced. We also really enjoyed the home made umeju, must try if you visit! If you are looking for a homey/cozy place to stay with great home cooking look no where else. Would definitely come and stay again to experience the area in depth next time!

Everything - outdoor hot pool tub especially!!! Cold outdoor pool would be good in summer but it is much smaller than pictures. Rest of the property is much better than photos - amazing - huge, gorgeous and private. Highly recommend!
