I liked the location away from the city noise and the ryokan itself with all the traditional decorations inside and outside the rooms. We didn't manage to visit all private onsens (there are four of them, two inside the building and two — outside, in the bamboo grove), but the ones that were located outside were almost serene. One can enjoy onsen without interruptions. Also, we had a friend who has tattoos. And this was the only option she could choose from. So, private onsens are a great addition to the ryokan itself. Oh! And the river view from our traditional Japanese room was quite nice.

Beautiful traditional house very well equipped with an amazing kitchen and dinning area, well positioned, quiet and comfortable. We only stayed one night but wished we stayed longer. The check in and check out process was very smooth and we felt very comfortable.

We were the only booking on Sunday night. We had the whole ryokan to ourselves, and the staff were so friendly and even took the time to talk to us. Highly recommend! The food was great, and the onsen was fabulous.

We have never experienced this kind of luxury in our lives….. this place and environment totally blew our minds! We had te luxury to stay in the villa, and exceeded all our expectations. The views, the pool, the sauna, the hotspring tub, the fireplace, the BBQ… it was more than enough to really end our holiday totally relaxed! We were supposed to go to Tokyo the last 3 days of our holiday, but we where glad that we canceled that, and went to Shikuoka instead! The falls and wasabi fields and hikes nearby were great excursions, and then come back to the villa was a real dream! Also there were no other guests, so we had the whole place for ourselves…. When we arrived we were welcomed with matcha tea and a traditional desert which were refreshing after a very long journey. The room was outstanding, exactly like in the pictures, loved the traditional Japanese style. In the room we had everything we needed from toiletries to coffee maker. The room was clean, had AC in case we were cold, the bed was comfy and it had a view to the garden. The Ryokan was quiet, perfect for a few days of relaxation. We especially loved the yukatas. The view to the central garden was everything we had hoped for. The main star for us was the private onsen which was accessible directly from the shower. The kaiseki breakfast and dinner were amazing. The staff even adapted the menu to our dietary needs, for example we couldn't eat raw fish and they were happy to change some of the ingredients. The restaurant is cozy and elegant and all the tables have privacy. The staff was kind and helpful throughout our entire stay. The neighborhood was quiet, clean. There are several hikes you can take in the nearby woods. From some of them you can even see Mount Fuji. A true Ryokan experience.
