Best boutique hotel in Sri Lanka.Very new and well designed. Breakfast was good and well prepared . The staff could not do enough for you. I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel.

What a find, such a lovely family such a warm and friendly welcome. Vish took us on a sight seeing trip to so many places he is an amazing guy so chilled and knowledgeable about the area food at the hotel was amazing. Definitely worth a visit and if you can get a tour with Vish take one.

This is paradise on Earth! A human-sized hotel with 13 rooms and numerous services. The staff is very helpful, always very friendly and willing to assist. The rooms are functional and decorated with attention to detail. Amazing views of coconut trees, the pool, and the Indian Ocean. The beach is very well equipped, not crowded, right at the hotel's doorstep, with sun loungers, canopy beds, and staff to monitor and assist guests. The place is very calm and relaxing. The hotel is like a secluded island in an area that doesn't have much interest in itself. The highlight: the restaurant serves excellent food, worthy of a starred restaurant, catering to all tastes at reasonable prices. The breakfast is also excellent, nothing like the bland international food of big hotel chains. The chef was attentive to our needs and tried to fulfill every wish we had. What's more, for my husband's birthday, we were offered a cake and a bottle of wine. We really felt pampered in Ahu Bay. Thanks again to all staff for this memorable holiday!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the sea-view villa and dining at the beach restaurant, and it was truly a remarkable experience. The room was just good; it was exceptional. Immaculately clean, spacious, and beautifully designed. The view from the room was breathtaking, with the beach right in front of us. Waking up to the sound of the waves and the sight of the endless sea was a dream come true. The beach restaurant didn't disappoint either. The food was not only delicious but also served with a touch of elegance. Every bite was a burst of flavor, and the freshness of the ingredients was evident. Dining with the sound of the waves in the background was a sensory delight. Overall, this place is a true gem for those seeking a relaxing and memorable getaway by the sea. The combination of the stunning sea-view villa and the delightful beach restaurant made for an unforgettable experience. I can't wait to return to this piece of paradise.

The place was a little bit secret. From outside, we can not see how beautiful the interior is. It seems there are not too many customers in the hotel. It was quiet. From the hotel, we could walk to the beach. The second last night in Sri Lanka, the hotel was fantastic!

I'm really demanding person but I was fascinated about this place! Let's Start with location. It's situated about 10 minuts by foot from Aluthgama railway station. It's very convenient when you trevel by train like we. You shouldn't worry about noise because this hotel is on a quiet street near the river. For people who is really in nightlife there are no bars, cafes and parties around this place. Instead of this you can enjoy amazing sunsets and try water activities on the river or fly on a glider over the beach. The hotel is separated from the beach by a river so they give you a free ride to the beach by boat. The beach is sandy, wide and almost deserted. There are no cafes but I saw several sunbeds so probably it could be rented. The coast is quite flat and the ocean depth is shallow, so the place is suitable for children Guest house is pretty small (about 5-6 rooms) and doesn't have a garden where people can walk but we didn't suffer about it. Amazing and welcoming family run it. They helped us with all questions but were not intrusive. We took a river safari excursion from them and did not regret it. We saw monitor lizards, endemic monkeys, small crocodiles, bats and birds. All the time we ate only in this hotel. They provide very tasty and filling breakfasts. We were served scrambled eggs in different forms (scramble, omelet, etc.), yogurt, fruit, toast, butter and jam, juice, tea or coffee. Besides they have a wide selection of dishes in menu including grilld meet( chiken, beef, porc), sea food, noodles, rice etc. All was available and has affordable price. We stayed in family room on the first floor. It is spacious, bright, extremely clean and fully matches with photo and description. Definitely recommend this hotel and say a huge thank you to this family!

I cannot write an objective review for the place since from me this was like a pilgrimage because I am just a huge fan of Geoffrey Bawa. Just being there was a dream come true! The staff is exceptional, very thoughtful and well mannered. The small touches like the happy hour where they serve home infused gin and tonic ( Bawa’s favourite) by the Lunuganga is an experience in itself. The sense was of history , his whimsical sense of design , his attention to detail is a learning in itself.. What a legacy !

We loved everything. It was our first stay in Sri Lanka and it couldn’t have been any better. The team helped us with everything: airport transfer, boat safari, turtle farm, restaurant recommendations, etc. Also the very early arrival wasn’t an issue, they even arranged an extra breakfest for us. The accomodotion was very clean and the swimming pool perfect.
