One of the very best hotels we every stayed at for the location, the modern decor and the comfort. We had a basic room overlooking the pond. No use to splurge for a deck in early October as it was too cold to use it. The restaurant is excellent and fairly priced, as the wine. The service very good. The breakfast is plentiful and varied, they serve just about everything but Eggs benedict. Do not believe some bad reviews that you will read further about the breakfast, it is total nonsense. It does not compare with the stingy breakfasts that they serve in France. Be sure to visit for free the great car collection on the premices. The Rundale castle is fabulous and the bizarre Hill of crosses unique, not to be missed.

We spent a great few days here. The location is quiet and peaceful. The house has everything you might need. It is located next to a river, which is great on a hot day or if you like to use a boat or do some fishing. The host is very friendly, responsive and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would love to come back another time.
