Breakfast was varied, tasty and very fresh. The homemade hummus, although not the real thing by Middle Eastern standards, was a pleasant (and funny) surprise. Rooms are very comfortable and warm as toast. Actually, the whole hotel is. Common areas are very cosy, complete with complementary coffee and tea and everything is spotless clean. The restaurant serves delicious local fare. The whole staff could not be friendlier and more helpful. Kudos to everyone. If reviews of other hotels are to be believed, this is by far the best value for money one can possibly find in Svalbard.

Centrally located in Longyearbyen, Basecamp Hotel is a traditional trapper's lodge-style property just 15 minutes’ drive from Longyearbyen Airport. The airport bus stops right outside.

Wonderful hotel, cosy room and very friendly welcome at the reception. The breakfast was also really good, with a freshly made bananabread porridge!

The hotel nicely blends into the environment of a small northern town. The room was spacious, clean, and had a beautiful view. You can borrow slippers for an excellent breakfast.

The location was great. The facilities in the rooms were quite satisfactory. There were two bathrooms which was a relief. The restaurants are very close. It was wonderful being there.
