The breakfast was just perfect; fresh fruit salad, toast and local honey yoghurt, plunger coffee. The location of the commanding viewpoint looking over Lake Te Anau was magical. Phil Smith, the host, was very hospitable, kindly, informative, knowledgeable. He feels like a real friend now!

We absolutely loved our stay. Friendly staff went out of their way to welcome us. The tea, coffee, cookies, wine/ beer in the guest lounge were very welcome. The breakfast was amazing. The quirky, funny touches added to the experience. Something at every turn.

We felt very welcome and cared for. I wished we'd planned to stay longer. I was thrilled with the loan of a coat for the Milford Sound trip, which made the difference. The proximity to restaurants and shops was great. The restaurant recommendation was perfect. I loved the town and the hotel.

    The beds were more comfortable than our beds at home! Kids aged 2 and 4 slept like a dream. Amazing TV features, with the kids loving Disney+ and Netflix cartoons. Extremely affordable, with a 3-bdrm unit for three adults and two children being $224. Proper bedrooms! Perfect car parking for vehicle. This price would be completely unheard of in other areas such as Queenstown or Auckland. Excellent facilities in the room, and we used the toaster, jug, and a pot on the stove.

    The Marakura Motel room was perfect for our family with 3 teenagers who shared a room with their own beds, whilst we had our own. Room was so clean and tidy, beautiful view of the lake, kitchen facilities allowed us to stay in and enjoy the views. So glad we booked 2 nights to enjoy a slower pace, whilst visiting Milford Sound.

    He really enjoyed staying in Te Anau Holiday Park. The apartment was spacious and organized for our family with two young kids. The park was very well located by the lake side. We also used it as base to go to Milford Sounds and he were very pleased. The hot tub at the end of the day was also an highlight. Definitely recommend a stay here if you want to explore the area.

    A perfect weekend away with the family. The chalet was perfectly equipped for us to self cater and we loved to wake up to that gorgeous Mountain View. A big thanks to Helen who was so patient with the children and getting them to do a pony ride.
