My husband and I stayed here after a long motorcycle route through Portugal. It was our last stop and it was a delight to be somewhere tranquil, swim in the heated pool and have a lovely dinner without having to hop on the bike to get into town. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was also great. We will definitely back.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The location is pure wilderness, surrounded by nature, with breathtaking, unpolluted night skies full of stars. The breakfasts were fantastic, and the hosts are incredibly warm and welcoming. Al has amazing stories about wine and offers a great wine tasting experience, while Ana prepares delicious meals and is super helpful with tips on what to see in the area. The design of the place is stunning, the mattresses and bedding are top-notch, and everything feels truly first-class. It’s a unique spot, definitely worth visiting. We highly recommend it! We stayed here for 1 night during our hike on the Rota Vincentina, and loved it!!! The caravan is so well-equipped, and one can really feel how it’s been done in a very thoughtful and creative way. The area is peaceful and quiet and yet close to São Teotónio. The hosts (and dogs) are so friendly and attentive, communication was easy and we were offered a pick-up for a small extra fee. Otherwise, it’s about a 30-40 minute walk from the centre of São Teotónio (which we did in the morning sun). We were provided the ingredients for a delicious vegetarian meal to cook ourselves and also a very elaborate breakfast, for an affordable price. We found our whole stay very cozy and comfortable, and would therefore come back and totally recommend it!

A beautiful oasis. We loved the roomy apartment with comfortable bed and lovely veranda to enjoy the nice garden and Birdlife, plus all amenities and great kitchen. We arrived in town on a Sunday afternoon with everything closed but our hosts had a big fruit bowl, milk, juice, water, biscuits, coffee, tea and even a couple of bread rolls for breakfast all in the kitchen for us. Beautiful friendly caring people.

Very lovely and cozy house, a little out of the way if you are walking the fisherman’s trail, but it is worth the extra 2 Km. It was the best stay we had along the trail. The owner Angela is very friendly and helpful, she also left us a warm welcome on the kitchen table, such as fruits , cookies and a delicious ice tea. We loved our stay and regretted that we only booked one night, would of loved to stay longer. 😀

Gisela and Tiago are excellent hosts. They looked after all our needs and provided us recommendations for local hikes (including on their own large property, with their German Shepherd, Jonas, as a guide) and restaurants, served delicious breakfasts to our room and were always available to answer questions or to simply chat. The property, set in a park reserve, is scenic and serene. The room is rustic and comfortable, with open wood beams and equipped with a cooktop, refrigerator, pots and pans and cutlery. The bed is the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The deck outside the room overlooks a forest. Gisela and Tiago strive to live in an ecologically friendly way, close to nature, and rely mainly on solar power. We highly recommend Herdade da Maceira.

Set in Zambujeira do Mar, 900 metres from Sudoeste TMN, Monte Soalheiro boasts an outdoor pool and views of the canal.
