Breakfast - great continental breakfast freshly laid out every morning. Location is great as several coffee shops/restaurants are within walking distance and the castle walls are steps away. Owners are super friendly and although their first language is not English, they made such an effort to communicate and accommodate us.

This is a new, comfortable, modest lodging with a purpose. "Rewilding Portugal" is involved with projects mostly in the Coa River valley. The location here in Vale de Madeira highlights the beauty of the natural landscape, and the acceptance of the Rewilding Center in the small village. The kitchen was especially nice. It allowed me to fix my own means (and clean up afterwards, of course), but it's big enough to serve events and large groups. Very well done, very well thought out facility. Good showers, good mini-split heater in my room. Very clean, with attentive staff.

Marisa has a beautiful house and makes her guests feel very comfortable- she made sure we understood the area and a little about the history of the town. the accomodation is spacious and immaculately clean- it has everything you could need. Marisa also provides a delicious breakfast with a variety of home cooked foods - staying with Marisa has been a real highlight of our visit to Portugal. (Her cheese is also delicious!!)

Breakfast, was very good, so much stuff, great choice, local produce. Very quite location, ( In town). Nice pool area. Nice decor, lots of history. Helped with dinner recommendation and tour bookings.

We really enjoyed our 2 nights here. Our hosts couldn’t have been more friendly or accommodating. We were the only guests, it would have been nice if more of the rooms were occupied. It has a hostel feel, common areas, it would be nice to socialize with other travelers. It was too cold to swim unfortunately. Breakfast was good with mostly produce from their own garden - cherries, walnuts and almonds. Homemade bread and jam too. We were able to make bread rolls with cheese and meat to take away for our lunch. We also were able to have a kettle in our room and put food in the fridge. It is 9 km from Trancoso, so a drive to restaurants and supermarkets.
