The overall simplicity and comfort of the place make you feel like you’re visiting your grandmother’s summer house, but with the added touch of an experienced team providing top-notch service. The restaurant is exceptional, offering not just typical hotel meals but a true taste of Ayvalık. The dishes were carefully prepared, and at breakfast, the regional olives and cheeses were beautifully presented. The beach is calm and well-maintained, with special services for guests with pets. We’ve experienced pet-friendly services before, like in Switzerland during a ski trip, but D Resort truly stands out as a pet-friendly hotel. One minor issue we encountered was that areas designated for guests with pets during breakfast and by the beach were sometimes taken by other guests who found those spots appealing. I don’t know why 😁 However, the staff quickly resolved the issue by finding us a new place. The service quality is top-notch, and the staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The sea is warm, and the sandy beach is perfect for families with young children. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the bungalows come with large gardens and balconies, providing a refreshing and open atmosphere. If you’re looking for a place where you can swim peacefully, avoid large crowds, listen to the sound of the sea, and enjoy a gentle breeze without being overwhelmed by noise or crowded activities, this is the perfect spot. It’s an ideal, peaceful retreat for families with little paws.

The hotel is at the old town of Ayvalik. The buses to Cunda and Sarimsakli are just a minute away. Lots of cute coffee and ceramic shops are 5-10 mins walk. The hotel architecture is really cool, the rooms are very clean, all staff are so helpful, kind and positive. And their breakfast are just another level, so so good.

There are holiday homes, quickly put together with cheap furniture and basic necessities to turn a property into money as fast as possible. And there are homes rented out for holidays where you can never feel at home because you know the owner was there last week and will be there again the next - you feel their presence at every turn. Stone House with Garden in Cunda is neither, and possibly belong to a category entirely of its own. Depending on the kind of person you are, this could be the best holiday accommodation you will ever stay in. It certainly was for me. This is a beautifully decorated museum of arts, history (both natural and cultural), antiques, culture and a large library of books put together. And it lacks none of the amenities you'd be looking for in a holiday home, in fact it has more. The garden is a beautiful heaven embracing you every time you are in it. This is a holiday home where you feel the time you stay outside as time lost from staying in and admiring the place itself. Yes, the location is ideal; yes, the people looking after the property and helping you at every turn are wonderful people; yes, it is great value for money etc. etc. but you can probably say all these for many other properties. What makes this place different and unique is the way all of the above put together with love and care. It is too difficult to put into words the experience you'll have staying in this property - everyone will have their own unique experience. For us, a family with two younger children (8 and 14, they celebrated their birthdays there) it was an unforgettable experience, soon to be repeated.
