The seclusion of the cabin amongst the garden/trees and the excellent keypad locking arrangements meant that we didn't see anyone: owners or the occupants of the neighbouring lodge during our stay so it felt like we were in the middle of nowhere even though we knew the owners were closeby and easy to contact. Also, thoughtful little details, like the excellent Big Island travel guidebook in the cabin. Also, the filtered rainwater was delicious!

We had a delicious dinner very professionally served and waited upon by the friendly staff. We had our room booked but the very capable manager gave us a choice of two rooms so we were very comfortable in a room with a beautiful forest outlook. Great memories!

The rooms are located in a native forest, at five minutes from Volcano Visitor Center. Breakfast is avaible and they placed it in your room the previous afternoon, french toast sirup, and fresh fruit, so you may enjoy it at your leisure and warmed in microwave . An adorable cottage enclaved in the middle of a fairy-tale rain forest. Cozy and incredibly well equipped. I don't think we've ever stayed at a more generously equipped place. We were surprised at the attention to detail in ever room and were thankful for it all showed the hosts' incredible generosity. There's a ton of books to read on everything Hawaii; wished we would have stayed until we were done reading all the books. The vegetation all around it is just stunning. The unit is squeaky clean and very well kept. Perfect for exploring the volcano area. ,
