The location on the river is spectacular. The accommodation was well equipped and we did not want for anything. The host was extremely friendly and accomadating. Got the best lamb I ever tasted from the farm. Facilities are well laid out and private. Super safe and no keys, what a wonderful feeling

We have recently stayed at La Sosta and I must say that it exceeded all my expectations. The room we stayed in was absolutely adorable - it was cosy, comfortable and had all the amenities one could ask for. The attention to detail in the room decor was impressive, making it the perfect retreat after a long day of exploring. What truly made our stay special was the restaurant at the property. The meals were some of the most delicious and intricate I've ever had - each dish was a true work of art, and every bite was an explosion of flavor in my mouth. I was blown away by the creativity and skill of the chefs. But what really set this property apart from the rest was the kindness and professionalism of Salvatore and Nina. You can see that they put their heart and soul in everything they make, which is something rare and beautiful. I was fortunate enough to arrive early in the day (2pm) and have the swimming pool all to myself on what was a very hot and muggy day. Mountain View is in a beautiful location, and indeed boasts a spectacular view of the Langeberg mountain range which serves as the backdrop to Swellendam. The guesthouse is just a ten minute walk from the prettiest part of the town where old Cape Dutch style architecture sits comfortably alongside several restaurants and cafes. Vera, the owner is an excellent host was most helpful. I've stayed in many places in South Africa, all of them generally very good but on this occasion I'm giving Mountain View 10/10.
