Makuwa Safari Lodge is a hidden gem, Simone and Morne are the kindest hosts you could wish for, managing everything with the lightest of touches. They make sure everything is excellent for you without being intrusive. Simone's cooking is exceptional and it's worth staying just to experience the quality. The incredible bonus of staying at Makuwa is its cost. I'm not sure that its value can be matched, and the very high customer rating average indicates that many visitors agree. We'll be back!

A superb and relaxing oasis in the middle of the bush. Lynn and Brian are exceptional hosts and their staff are amazing. Great food was also a bonus. Thanks for a great stay, it was the perfect close to our South African adventure 😊

We arrived quite late after a struggle with navigation but had great directiond and such a warm welcome from our host Annie. The house is so beautiful and inviting, with such a great eye for detail. We loved spending time on the veranda and the evenings around the fire was exactly what we needed after long days in the Kruger. We loved the four legged friends that checked in every now and then. We hope to come back and enjoy more of the facilities!

How to express the highest satisfaction when 10 is not enough? Fantastic breakfast! Perfect dinner! Helpful staff! The greatest satisfaction with the attitude of the waiter/barman TABOU. We had a great time in the swimming pool. Tabou came often to ask us for our needs. We were really excited! We felt safe. We felt taken care about us. The room was clean, tidy, modern equipment. The furniture felt like new. The environment and facilities would not be enough for full satisfaction. The excitement was due to the connection with the staff who took care of everything perfectly.

We were incredibly impressed by the lodge – your help was simply outstanding. Everything was perfectly arranged, and the host’s assistants were joyful and absolutely delightful. We ate exceptionally well. Truly no words. Annie and John, we’re deeply grateful for the warm and loving treatment and everything else. Set in a stunning location just outside the Greater Kruger Park, there are two viewing decks from which to watch game (we saw elephants, kudu, impala and warthog during our stay). Tommy, Andrea, Jan and their team were lovely and super welcoming. The pool area and surrounds are beautiful and were just what we were looking for, somewhere to relax with a book after a long safari in the Kruger. Lovely bar and a la carte restaurant.

It was such a quirky little place. Lovely environment and there was a viewing deck overlooking Kruger national Park. Stars were stunning at night time. Cabin we stayed in was clean, food was delicious and staff were super helpful. Had a group of girls that were volunteering to help with some renovations while we were there so there was a bonfire at night, music and good company. Great vibes. Was also wonderful to see how they were helping the community through their NPO.

    The hosts Simone & Morne are amazing. They are welcoming and very caring. They gave us great recommendations, organized different safaris and were always there to help. The food at the lodge was prepared with love and it was delicious, from breakfast to dinner! We can also recommend the bush walk they are offering - Morne has great knowledge of the area, animals, and plants. It was lots of fun to explore the bush with him! Thank you for the unforgettable experience!
