The location is ideal—just a short walk from major attractions, shops, and restaurants, yet far enough to offer a peaceful escape. The rooms were beautifully designed, spacious, and spotlessly clean, with a comfortable bed that guaranteed a great night’s sleep. The attention to detail in the room amenities added a luxurious touch. What truly sets this hotel apart is its rich family history. The building has an incredible story behind it, which the staff are more than happy to share. It adds a unique charm and character that makes the experience unforgettable. Speaking of the staff, they were exceptional—friendly, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure guests felt welcome. Their recommendations for local dining and activities were spot-on. Breakfast was fantastic, with a diverse selection of fresh and delicious options. Hotel Kandilj is situated in the heart of the bazaar Baščaršija in the oldest part of Sarajevo, combining a traditional Bosnian atmosphere and modern comfort. Free WiFi access is available. We really loved the cosy feeling of this place and the authentic vibe. All of the staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice. Each day we got real Bosnian coffee to go with it. We will return! :)

From the moment I arrived, the hosts went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable. Their warmth and genuine hospitality made all the difference – from thoughtful little touches in the apartment to offering local tips and always being available if I had a question or needed anything. It really felt like I was staying with friends who wanted me to have the best possible experience in Sarajevo. The apartment itself was spotless, stylish, and incredibly cozy – the kind of place you actually look forward to coming back to after a day of exploring. Location-wise, it couldn’t be better. You’re close to everything: cafes, markets, restaurants, and public transport are all within walking distance. Despite being in such a central spot, the area is peaceful and quiet, so you get the best of both worlds. Another huge bonus was the parking – super convenient and safe, which is not something you always find so easily in city stays. It made everything so much easier, especially if you’re road-tripping or just like the freedom of having a car. All in all, this wasn’t just a stay – it was an experience. I left with great memories, and that’s entirely thanks to the incredible hospitality of the hosts and the perfect setup of the apartment. If you’re headed to Sarajevo, do yourself a favor and book this place. You won’t regret it.
