This property is an oasis just a stone throw away from downtown San Ignacio. I was so taken with all the trees and plants and I love that they have benches to simply sit and enjoy nature. The shower was phenomenal, the bed was comfortable, and the A/C was superb. I liked that there’s was a little coffee maker complete with filter paper, ground coffee and powdered creamer and I made good use of it in the early morning when I needed to work remotely. Speaking of—the WiFi was excellent and I had no issues with any of the conference calls I had during my stay. Lastly, I’m very impressed with the attentiveness of the staff. There was always someone around to ask for help or get a recommendation, without them being helicopter-y. If you need a nature retreat within easy reach of downtown (if you’re into walking) I wholeheartedly recommend this place! It’s especially perfect if you’re backpacking but want a nice, calm place to stay. The bus drops you off at the bottom of the hill and it’s a 5 minute walk.

Stunning place to stay, with good food and poolside cocktails and lots of activities around. Staff were friendly and helpful. We did a kayak tour into San Ignacio which was super chill and the guide was very informative. Got to see monkeys and toucans!

Vanilla Hills Resort offers spacious bungalows located in the lush tropical jungle outside of San Ignacio. It is a short walk from the Mopan River and offers free Wi-Fi and parking. Great staff, beautiful setting, amazing pool,good place for bird watching!

Amid the forests of the Blue Hole National Park, this property offers free Wi-Fi access, private parking and free bike rentals to sightsee the area. A tour desk is also available on site. Well this place is paradise, perfect in every way. The location is stunning particularly when looking at the mountains from your balcony first thing in the morning. The restaurant food was very good too at ok prices.

The hotel was great, and the staff was amazing. The rooms were clean and the pool was a plus too. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and both were very good. Everyone worked to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable and they were able to provide answers to all our questions about everything we wanted to do around San Ignacio. The only thing to note is that the hotel is a little outside of the town so you might need a car to get into the town, it’s about a 5-10 minute drive so not bad at all. Most tours will also pick you up from the hotel if needed.

We enjoyed so much everything, well decorated and clean cabanas, the sound of nature, the wonderful terrace to relax, the refreshing swimmingpool, delicious breakfast, …. The room was clean and comfortable with lots of space (including a lockbox, desk and somewhere to hang your clothes). The shower was hot which was a luxury! The location is about 10 min walk to the centre of town (it’s at the top of a fairly steep hill) and there are a few restaurants nearby. Sonia who runs the guesthouse was SO kind - she was really flexible when I was delayed arriving due to illness and was always on hand to answer any questions/help organise trips/transport. Would definitely recommend.

Larry and Melanie were some of the best hosts we’ve ever had, they’re proud of the Belizean culture and history and we learnt so much from Larry while eating Melanie’s amazing meals. We basically stayed on site for the 3 nights we were there. We booked our tours through Larry and had the best tour guides Francis and Dan! Both so knowledgeable and caring. Definitely make sure eat at least once at this place, it was great! The place: We stayed in the biggest one bedroom unit. Beds are great quality, super comfortable and sturdy. The bathroom was really big which had a beautiful shower with a wee jungle view. While the pressure is a little low, it had a big enough shower head that we didn’t mind at all. Hot water everyday! The bath was amazing after a long day of walking. A big balcony with a hammock that overlooks the pool was a delight especially when it was raining. Beautiful walk down to the river where we saw toucans flying around. Saw a howler monkey for dinner and a gibnut lounging at the back of the property. Thank you Larry, Melanie and team for the memories 🙏

The area felt so secluded but also very clean and safe. We also had trails to a waterfall and cave towards the back of the property which was great for exploring when we didn’t feel like driving. The room was well stocked and we had everything we needed for our stay. We were really impressed by how well the screens kept the bugs out and we loved laying in the hammock in the screened in porch. It was a bit cold to swim in the pool but we liked heading there in the evenings to relax and enjoy the evening. It was also wonderful to use the grill by the pool and super easy.
