Set in a 17th-century former farmhouse just metres from the banks of the River Wye, Parva Guesthouse is less than a mile from historic Tintern Abbey.

Most rooms enjoy river views, and all are individually decorated and include free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom. The house itself was lovely, comfortable and welcoming. Our room was exceptional, every detail well thought out! The main sitting room spacious. The restaurant area was welcome. Breakfast was lovely, portions excellent….their apricot/ prune fruit mixture yummy! Only wish the restaurant had been open that night. Another time I would ensure to be there to try their restaurant.

In the pretty market town of Ross-on-Wye, the family-run Bridge House has a large garden overlooking the river. Most rooms have views of the water or the 12th-century ruins of Wilton Castle, just 2 minutes’ walk from the building. Beautiful spot on the river, absolutely amazing views, cozy and welcoming. We loved the shared lounge area, where we could have a cocktail and unwind. Quiet and perfect. Breakfasts are lovely.

Quirky, romantic cottage with garden in Wye Valley, a property with a garden, is situated in Ross on Wye, 33 km from Kingsholm Stadium, 9.2 km from Wilton Castle, as well as 15 km from Puzzlewood. Guests can benefit from a patio and a picnic area. There is an outdoor fireplace and guests can make use of free WiFi, free private parking and an electric vehicle charging station. Full of character. A hidden gem. My 15-year-old daughter said within 5 minutes of being in the property, "I am in love and want to live here." Definitely a romantic and quirky stay, as advertised! Exceeded expectations. Offers something very different. Built in 1900, offering a sense of history. Spiral staircase up through the middle of the building gave it a 'lighthouse' feel. Modest in size, it felt grand. Self-contained. Stone lintles. Rustic, warm, and cosy appeal. Off the beaten track. Gardens were substantial. Lots of planting so will be nice in the summer. We didn't use the fire pit or have a bbq, but it would be perfect for that. Our puppy loved playing outside in the grounds. Dog friendly! There are a few gaps in the fencing, so you need to be paying attention to any 4-legged friends that might want to 'explore'. Big comfy sofa and a selection of dvds were available to finish off our evening. Nice chocolate biscuits, tea and coffee provided too. Bedding and towels included. Short drive to Goodrich Castle, which is a lovely heritage site. We had dinner in Ross at the Hope & Anchor. Taxi was £20 each way, although it is an easy drive. Other options are also available closer. It's worth noting that the WiFi is limited and a work in progress. Also, the spiral staircase would be tricky for anyone with mobility issues. These were non-issues for us. For my wife (it was her birthday) and my daughter, who had a small separate sleeping quarters, this was a perfect stay. Kind thanks to our host, Miriam. We couldn't have had a better stay.. We hope to visit again!
