Everything we thought we needed was already here. And the location couldn’t be beat. We looked out the front window and saw Doune Broch just steps from our door. We didn’t climb it once we climbed it twice because it was just so breathtaking. The black houses, alpacas, the standing stones, everything was just around the corner. It was brilliant. I have to say it’s the only vacation stay I’ve ever had where I was truly sad to leave. Being from America , this is the other side of the world and it’s a side I wish I could stay on. Thank you to Captain Murdo and for anyone considering staying on the Island of Lewis, if you’re lucky enough to find this available, grab it you’ll never be happier with any place you’ve ever stayed. Plus, there is a great gift shop a block down where Angus has some great gifts from the area at super prices.

The photographs in the house are very special bringing the outside to the inside and the pictures of the past connect right with modern comfortable times. The kitchen has everything you need, the stove is fabulous. From the windows you can see amazing sunsets and cute sheep. Highly recommended!
