Everyone at the hotel is so lovely and provided exceptional service! I believe it is family-run and everyone is so kind and generous from the second they met me. I am a Black Canadian traveller and took a Jett bus to Petra that arrived at 10am. I walked to the hotel to ask if I could keep my bags there while I explored Petra. It was early and the man in charge also runs the store (next door), when I talked to him, he gave me the key for the room at 10am at no additional cost, since it was already ready, which is so kind of him! In Canada and most places I have travelled to, if you could check-in that early there would be an additional charge. The room was clean, I dropped my bags off and went to explore Petra! He also provided a map and suggested ways to explore Petra. I explored Petra for 6 hours (I got the two day pass) and got back tired and went straight to bed. The second day, I woke up early and accidentally broke a candle in the lobby on my way out. He was in the store, next door and I told him and showed him, asking him how much it is and that I will pay for it. He told me it was absolutely fine and not to worry. I went into Petra for an hour and came back out. Breakfast is included on the roof, and it was his wife who was preparing breakfast, which was spectacular and she was also very very kind. I am stunned, this family is so beautiful and so is the hotel.

Perfect place to stay in Petra! Everything was excellent. Hottest shower we had in Jordan, comfortable beds, room was warm and quiet. My mum and I were here for 2 nights. Rana and her lovely children were very helpful, kind and welcoming. We also met their extended family one evening which was a very special experience! It felt like we were staying with family not a hotel. Wonderful stay overall. Thank you for everything! Would return and would recommend!
Words are hard to describe the experience of this amazing small hotel , Bakier and his family run this business at a very high level and they have built it in a way that it gives you more than a place to sleep and eat like the most hotels all around , they give you an experience and experiences are priceless . I also wanted to say ,Dont go to Petra by night sunset tour is way more fun and relaxing!
View is absolutely stunning, people are very very very friendly, nothing is too much. The camp is clean, cosy, and got all the basics. We were with a family with small kids, they arranged a great hike of 5km which was perfect for the 3 and 4 year old. We had a great guide Assem who was taking really good care of us and the kids. He went above and beyond for our well-being and even carried one kid for the last part uphill.
Selling family room. A hostel that forces you to sleep in single beds that do not offer family rooms. When we specified to stay as family. It's a hostel that says that's the room and acts rudely and disrespectfully without refunding any money. Definitely not suitable for families, money pit.
I would say this is a great place for families (we had a family room with bunk beds and double bed) for a short stay. It's close to the Petra entrance, though as others have said, up a very steep and quite precarious road, so be aware of this - it's not a good place for those with mobility issues or maybe really young kids, buggies etc to try to walk. But being up the hill a bit does give nice views. Breakfast was simple but perfectly adequate.
