Guests are free to attend Buddhist morning services, the Goma fire ritual and meditation. Amazing place to stay, extremely recommended. A really great experience in general - I stayed in one of the suites and could not have asked for a more relaxing and peaceful place to stay, only a short walk from Okunoin Cemetary and an easy walk to the rest of town. Very close to the bus stop from Koyasan Station. Staff were always helpful and the meals were unbelievably delicious and satisfying, even though I needed to ask for a soy-free modification. The best food I ate during my stay!

I even got to see the rest of the goat farm before starting my hike on the Kumano Kodo. I will be back!

It is situated 1.4 km from Nachikatsuura Sports and Cultural Center and offers luggage storage space. The guest house provides rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. MaruHouse was our favorite accommodation during our Kumano Kodo trip. Check-in was smooth, and Maru was kind enough to pick up our bags from the station so we didn't have to walk the trail with all our stuff (turned out to be a great call since it rained a lot later in the day). The location is very convenient as it is a short walk from Kii-Katsuura station. The bath was great - equipped with hot water - perfect after a long day of walking. We were also really pleased to find a kotatsu in the common area. We cooked some of our meals, and the kitchen was well equipped and easy to use. The beds were clean and comfortable. We wish we could have stayed longer - it was a very nice and well kept house!

It’s located in the first village on the kumano trail, so it’s perfect for those people who wants to do the short hike on the first day. The host and his wife are amazing and were so friendly that we felt like home straight away. They serve the dinner and breakfast and so far it was the most amazing meals we had during Kumano experience. Not to forget the view and magic mist we saw on the evening. One of the nicest hotels during my stay in Japan. Everything was clean and orderly when I checked in. The room is decorated with beautiful furniture and books. It would be very suitable for someone with movement disabilities and extremely comfortable for someone without.
