The lady at the reception was very friendly. The room was basic but nice and we all slept very well. The kids loved the breakfast and dinner buffet (which was included) in the Sossusvlei Lodge (2km by car). The houses have a nice view to the Desert. There was a chilled bar & a small pool directly at the camp.
After a stay in the neighbouring camp, we knew Desert Camp would be a hit. Is has beautiful cottages, with plenty of storage space behind the bed/in the bathroom. The shower is great and my kids loved the pool. But what sets apart this accommodation is the possibility to have breakfast and dinner at the Sossusvlei lodge, which is always good and definitely a highlight. The location is wonderful as well of course, you are right next to the Sossusvlei park.
Stayed overnight on our way to Sossuvlei, it's on a well maintained gravel road. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. There is a small petrol station there that functions from 7am-7pm. They have a restaurant with affordable meals. It says beds are x2 single beds but it was actually 2 comfortable queen size beds. The rooms were clean and there was a nice thick blanket which came in handy.
Very spacious, well equipped, and spacious room - it's more than a room! Very good food choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Excellent staff - professional, attentive, warm, and fun. Special mention to Berry and Helena. We did the guided tour to Sossusvlei dunes and deadvlei with Silva and Gift and we enjoyed it very much, including being with them. We spent one day relaxing by the pool and really enjoyed the peace and quiet.
Very unique place to stay in the middle of the desert. Beautiful rooms and nice pool. We did a fun sunset quad tour for our daughter her birthday. They sang for her at the dinner table. Every night there is a 5 course dinner , first night delicious second night a bit less fancy.
We were so lucky to see the baby rhino that was 12 day old, it was amazing to be so close to the animals.
Great facilities, felt safe, not too loud or loud at all (really just depends on if you happen to be next to neighbous with crying kids or not - luckily we werent). Beautiful stars, could see the outline of the milky way. Short distance to Deadvlei national park.
Perfect for those who want to be close to the Big Daddy and the desert for an affordable price. Next to it there is a chance to feed the fennet foxes nearby. You can meet with Pumba who is the voluntary lawnmower of the lodge. We liked to be there.
The staff was friendly and most welcoming. Enos the tour guide was exceptional and his presentation about the history of Namibia is something my kids enjoyed most. He kept everyone going by encouraging us to reach the top of big daddy dune
