This accommodation is on the non-touristy side of the main island. This is great because it is calm, but you have to walk ca. 15-20 mins to the vibrant center. We recommend renting bikes during your stay: a fun and practical way of transport for a few days.

(Also great for vegetarians). The free use of kayaks and snorkelling gear was great, we even spotted a dolphin from the dock. The staff is super friendly and make you feel right at home without being intrusive.

Some units feature views of the sea or garden. We loved every minute of our stay at Mosana Reef. Nadia and Salvatore are perfect hosts. We stayed in the two-bedroom apartment upstairs - very spacious, with private terraces front and back, one with great ocean views, especially at sunrise. The kitchen is sufficiently well-equipped if you want to cook - we didn’t, as Salvatore is such a great chef! Playa Bluff is a 10-minute walk and another 10 or so minutes brings you to a number of beach bars and restaurants. Playa Bluff itself is very beautiful and remarkably unspoilt. Mosana is such a relaxing place to stay, it was very hard to leave. Thank you so much, Nadia and Salvatore, for a wonderful visit.

The communal spaces to eat are really nice and you feel a real hostel vibe even though the rooms are private. We loved the hotel beach that is easily accessible from the grounds. We stayed in the Estrella cabin that overlooked another quiet beach, so we’d fall asleep to the waves every night. There is a Toucan rescue who comes by a lot. I got to see her during my shower along with seeing a sloth from our balcony. I paid to get a massage done on site, and Josie did an amazing job! Owners and staff are also all extremely nice people.

The eco-friendly B&B Dolphin Bay Hideaway features a wooden terrace with hammocks, plus garden and Dolphin Bay views. It is located on Cristobal Island, 20 minutes’ boat trip from Bocas del Toro.

He has done an exceptional job in remodeling the space w beautiful cabinetry, furniture amd appliances. It’s quiet and spacious, a $4-5 taxi ride from downtown.
