Had a really thoughtful conversation with the owner about the history of the area, who was able to share perspectives of Slovenians who stayed in the region after WWII. (My family emigrated from a neighboring town to the US after the war) After visiting this gorgeous place, it was easy to see why my grandfather missed his homeland so much.

Our room was cozy, with a warm wooden ambiance. We also had a couple of friendly spiders sharing the space with us, guarding us from any unwelcome mosquitoes. The hosts were incredibly friendly, and the dinner they offered was truly unique. We highly recommend trying the real truffle pasta! It was definitely a charming stay with its own story to tell. The dogs, the terrace, the views, and the pool—everything was absolutely lovely. A perfect summer getaway!
