A recently renovated farm stay in Ben Tre, Coco Happy Farm offers picnic area, private parking and sports facilities. This farm stay provides a shared lounge. Originally, we came to this area for one night to relax from the hustle and bustle of Saigon, but we enjoyed it so much that we ended up staying for two nights. The place is truly magical, and you will hardly see any tourists here—only kind, smiling local people and plenty of fruit, especially coconuts. Thuan is a very friendly and caring person. He speaks perfect English, which really helped us to get at least a glimpse of the local culture and way of life, especially during a private trip on the Mekong River, which I highly recommend. The next day, we went on a bike ride and visited a local coconut processing workshop (nothing goes to waste here). One of the most unforgettable moments was when we visited local school children—it was an incredible experience that touched our hearts. Whenever we were hungry, his sister Thuy cooked us excellent Pho or fried spring rolls at her restaurant. We are glad we chose this place and we hope to return here in the future. Martin the host and his team were amazing at making our stay comfortable and enjoyable for our family. He took lots of time out to share insights about the region. His tour of the Mekong was a highlight of our trip.

You get to have a real local experience as not many tourists here The owner, Thai, was absolutely brilliant and helped make my stay extra special, as did his adorable children! I hired a moped which helped me explore that much further than the bikes but the bike rides were also good. I timed it perfectly for the flower markets. Stunning! All the locals were so friendly saying hello as I passed. Totally unexpected but I suppose a single red curly headed female stands out a little. From this experience I'd recommend a homestay.

The couple that runs this place is golden-- they are hardworking and sincerely nice. They do their best for you. Duc, the husband, and I talked about all of the havoc wreaked by the US on this land (I'm American), and consequently, his family, and despite it all he showed no ill will towards me or my country. He is interested in politics and can tell stories about the land, the history, etc. He also helped me organize my bus trip from Saigon. The bus station was small and easy to find. The bus had A/C and the driving was fine. There is a water filter system so no plastic bottles (AMAZING!). The bungalow is great-- the two beds were both perfectly supportive but not hard or soft. The sheets were excellent quality cotton (I'm a snob). There were creatures that you could hear at night on the roof, but not one tiny insect was inside my cabin. The bathroom smelled a little like mothballs, I assume to avert insects. Breakfast was varied-- eggs or soup on the two days I was there, plus fruit, coffee, tea, bread, or --for me-- something gluten free. The free bikes were great! Some were not in perfect condition, but there were so many, you could just take a different one. I took the 6 hour boat tour, which was interesting! We saw how rope was made from coconut and went to a coconut candy place, did some bike riding. In my opinion, there could have been more stops to break up the monotony of the boat ride, but what we saw was unique. Overall, excellent! I've stayed in many village type homestays, and there are always small issues. This one ranks high!

This farmstay is a hidden GEM, from the moment we arrived Thu and the team made us so welcome and so at ease. The food has to be some of the best we have had in Vietnam, Huy, the chef, is a genius with how he cooks produce from the garden, so fresh, organic and vegetarian. The coconut oil soap and body oil produced on-site is magic. Cycling through the coconut plantations was better than I could have imagined. Thu arranged a boat trip with a local boatman which was superb fun and very interesting. Enjoy the sunsets over the river, they will blow your mind. Do not miss the opportunity to stay here if you are looking for some peace and quiet in a natural environment, it's a must !!

They are so helpful and will try their best to get anything you want or need. We felt very relaxed and comfortable. It is very home from home here. Shops and restaurants are all in a 5/10 minute walking distance. A knew coffee/breakfast restaurant was being built whilst we were here. And what an incredible job they have done too. We loved using the Free Bus. This is perfect for getting about. Grand World, Airport, Ferry ⛴️. All the supermarkets, X-Mark, Kingkong. (And Free). You can hire bikes right here.🏍. And bicycles 🚲 are free. If you're looking for real people in real veitnamese culture, this is the place for you. We will most definitely be coming back. We will miss these people 😢 for sure.
