From the moment of arrival, we felt instantly relaxed and excited to begin our holiday. It was lovely chatting to the Resort Manager Puspa and hearing stories about the Buahan journey thus far from an insider's point of view. Buahan's commitment to sustainability, fostering community and encouraging guests to be at one with nature are highly commendable. For us it's the amazing people, exceptional food and unique experiences that made our stay truly wonderful and unforgettable. A special mention goes to De Gus, our host who was professional, friendly, engaging and always anticipated our needs. On numerous occasions he went out his way to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Special thanks to Chef Eka and Chef Agus for the mouth watering meals they prepared for us. We love the concept of 70% plant based, and also the opportunity to go foraging for ingredients, we have learnt so much! A few tips and must do's to share based on our experience: - Tjampuhan Waterfall Trek --> Descend down gravel pathways and you'll be rewarded with Buahan's own private waterfall, beautiful and mesmerising. - Pop-up lunch at Tegal Dukuh, Taro Village --> The perfect blend of culture, adventure, education and of course, delicious food. - Yoga @ the Pavilion --> Best way to start your day, breathe in the peace and tranquility, practising yoga amongst the lush forest and greenery. - Cocktail hour @ Botanist Bar --> Enjoy the 'Salak' Cocktail (whiskey sour with a Buahan twist!) during sunset - Subak Buahan Trek --> A delightful trek exploring local plants and flora, finishing with a stroll through paddy rice fields. Last but not least, if you're reading this review and researching a resort to stay at in Bali, look no further and book Buahan - it is truly one of a kind, an experience like no other!

The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. They had every corner covered and seemed like they were always one step ahead of us. The view from the restaurant is really beautiful. The breakfast was al a cart, but you can order as much as you like. The restaurant food was delicious too.

Accommodations: The accommodations at Hanging Gardens of Bali are simply breathtaking. My villa was perched high above the treetops, offering panoramic views of the surrounding jungle and the Ayung River below. The villa itself was a masterpiece of design, with luxurious furnishings, a private infinity pool, and all the amenities one could desire for a truly indulgent stay. Service: The service at Hanging Gardens of Bali was second to none. From the warm welcome upon arrival to the attentive care throughout my stay, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that every moment was nothing short of perfect. Special thanks to the concierge team for arranging unforgettable excursions and ensuring that all my needs were met with a smile. Dining: The dining experience at Hanging Gardens of Bali was a highlight of my stay. The restaurant offers a tantalizing array of gourmet dishes inspired by traditional Balinese cuisine, all served in a breathtaking setting overlooking the jungle. Each meal was a culinary delight, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and impeccable presentation. Facilities: The facilities at Hanging Gardens of Bali are truly world-class. This is a luxurious and peaceful stay in the heart of nature , with its own private river and waterfall! Waking up every morning watching (and listening) to the dawn and feeling completely immersed in the nature of Bali yet with every modern comfort is an amazing experience. The place is incredible, with privileged views. The staff is attentive at all times, and the welcome is wonderful—they greet you with a welcome juice, all organic and made by them. The villa is spectacular, offering total privacy with a private pool that you can step into directly from your room. Every comfort is taken care of—simply amazing. I will definitely come back! I highly recommend visiting Akohara. The food is amazing. The room has a lot of details. I'm absolutely in love with this place. You can practice Yoga in the beautiful deck around nature. I love it.

    Unfortunately our stay here was not the 5* we expected. The villas have been rotting with mould by the looks of it since they were built 11 years ago.. Every peice of furniture was rotting, covered in mould and well in need of replacing. The villas absolutely stank of mould and damp! The first villa they gave us was overrun by ants and other bugs, the 2nd was a little better but no way was it 5 star. Our honeymoon was ruined due to mould illness

    The resort is located at the edge of a forest but has everything you can ask for a 5-star restaurant with delicious food, pool, spa, gym. and the staff were simply amazing. The room was spacious and clean, had a superb view and the staff was amazing, always helpful and (very surprising) they made sure to remember our names. The WhatsApp chat option was unbelievable as we could message staff for everything we needed.
