Five-Star Hotels in Luang Prabang

Location was great, and we loved biking around the town on the bikes provided by the hotel. It was also easy to walk from the hotel as well. The food was mostly outstanding, the staff very friendly with excellent English. We loved the architecture and layout of the hotel, and the pool was amazing.

We traveled as a family of three to Luang Prabang. After reviewing many websites and reviews, we settled for Sofitel. It looks really good in pictures. Of course it raised our expectations. Until we arrived, I can only say "WOW". It not only look exactly like the photos but exceed them. It is really like an oasis in this charming city. Although it was slightly off the main attractions, but walkable distance, the advantage is it is really quiet from all the chaos and noises and you can really relax and just spend a day at the pool. I especially like the landscape within the courtyard. My daughter absolutely enjoyed the daily feeding and playing with the rabbits in the garden area. My dad liked to sit at the open restaurant and enjoy reading the news. I think all ages can find a lovely spot to enjoy. The stuff are very friendly and after five nights, we became friends! I especially want to thanks Te's team, Vard, Leng, Noudy, Yai for hosting and giving us valuable suggestions during our local itinerary planning. Also the restaurant team for catering all our special needs.

The hotel is located on top of a hill overlooking Luang Prabang and used to be owned by the Lao Royal Family. It is beautifully laid out and furnished. The infinity pool in the centre overlooking the hills and then the large dining room, bar and reception area is amazing. Our room was very spacious with a large outdoor space for reading and enjoying the beautiful view. The bed was incredibly comfortable and d the lounge and bathroom area very large and comfortable. However incredible the property itself is , and it really is, it is over-shadowed by the team that run the hotel and work there. Everyone we met was warm, kind and genuinely thoughtful. This was a big expense for us for our 20th wedding anniversary so all of the optional tours and experiences were tricky for us to afford but we never felt at all pressured to spend money. Only given great advice and really taken care of. The team were very open and all talked to us about their lives in Laos so gave us a broader understanding of the country we were visiting. Finally - I need to mention the food. We love good food and are lucky to live in Japan so eat a lot of very good food. The restaurant at Residence Phou Vau is exceptional. Everything we eat was made with the highest quality fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. I tried to exercise every day so that I could eat more ;-)

We loved it so much that we extended our 2 night stay for another 2 nights. Also booked one of the VIP rooms which was great compared to the twin room we had for the first nights. They have a complimentary airport pick up service and also took us to the train station on the last day. There are always 2 drivers that take guests to the center of the town (market area) for free which was a great service we used many times. If you want to walk to the center it takes roughly 15 to 20 minutes. The rooms were cleaned daily and stocked with water bottles and soft drinks. We also had a cake offered by the hotel because it was our wedding anniversary. In general I think this hotel is great to stay at and only needs a few improvements to make it even better but it didn’t change our experience negatively. The food and room service were great and I wish we knew it was that good because the restaurants in town are mostly for tourists and the food isn’t that great. The night market also has a lot of food for tourists at western prices which we didn’t enjoy at all

The staff was amazing and very helpful with everything I needed. The room was just perfect. Great value for money.

All staff was extraordinary, especially David. We traveled with our son, 8 months, and staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Everything. Hotel is so beautiful, lika a dream of " old times". Location is 100%, you are in middle of everything, walking distance to everything. Views are nice. Restaurant/ breakfast room is beautiful, nice street seating too. Service perfect 🥰

The resort was close to the night market as well as the mekong river and many hotels. The garden was beautiful. The breakfast was very good and the staff was very polite and helpful.

Staying at this hotel was a wonderful choice. The view from my room was simply amazing, overlooking a beautiful garden. The room was clean and tidy, with all the necessary amenities. The service staff were friendly and professional, always ready to assist. The hotel also has a well - equipped fitness center, which is perfect for those who like to stay active during their travels.
